Many Christians move from justification by faith alone to sanctification by mostly “me alone” with a little help from the Holy Spirit. (Justification is being declared righteous by God - just as if you never sinned - just as if you always obeyed). In fact, it's the only real reason for working. Only becuase you are "Christ's workmanship" who relies on Christ's work in your place.

BECAUSE I AM JESUS CHRIST AND I WILL DIE FOR ALL YOUR SINS PLUS

We must have faith plus works to please God! And yes, we will be judged by our works! Revelations 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God and the books were opened and another book was opened, which is the book of life and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works!Ģ Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that everyone may receive a reward of the deeds done in the body things according to what he hath done, whether good or bad. In other words I can say I believe in Christ but If I don't show love, kindness, outreach to the needy and so on then faith alone is dead. We just can't say we trust in Christ without doing anything to show for it. We can be the kindest, gentlest most compassionate loving person but without faith in Christ we're not saved and we can have all the faith in the world but without works(deeds) its dead.Īfter the initial stage of salvation then faith must go one step further and that is in deeds(works). Where most Christians get confused about this issue is in the initial stage of salvation, this is where faith alone comes in- believing in Christ, no amount of works(nothing we can do) can save us. If you’re concerned about it, then you have not committed it because it would mean your sins were not forgiven and the Holy Spirit would not be in you convicting you.Jim New Just a follower of Jesus Christ and him only! Gods word is very clear about this- the book of James 2:24-26 says "faith without works(deeds) is dead" gotta have both. If by chance you are a Christian who is concerned if you have committed the sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, don’t worry. Therefore, Jesus did not pay for that sin. But, as I stated above, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. So, if you are a believer, then Jesus has most definitely paid for all of your sins. Whichever position you hold, you must understand that the only way to be forgiven of your sins is for Jesus to pay for them, and you must trust in what he has done on the cross as a sacrifice. Others (Calvinists) say that Jesus only paid for the sins of those who are redeemed otherwise, there are people in hell whose sins have been paid for. Some say that he did, but because they did not trust in Christ as Savior, then forgiveness was not given to them. Nevertheless, there is a debate within Christianity as to whether or not Jesus paid for the sins of those who are in hell. In order for you to be saved, every sin that you will ever be guilty of was paid for by Jesus on the cross. God, who knows all things (1 John 3:20), knows every sin you have committed and will commit. This means that every sin you committed that you are aware of, as well as unaware of, has been paid for by the Lord Jesus. Therefore, we have to conclude that Jesus bore all of our sins. 1 Peter 2:24 says that Jesus bore our sins in his body on the cross. When we are speaking of Christians, we say that Jesus paid for all of their sins past, present, and future. If it was unforgivable, then anyone who did not believe in Jesus could ever later be saved. Some people say that Jesus did not die for unbelief, but that can’t be true because there are plenty of people who did not believe in Jesus but then did believe later. “Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven,” (Matt. But, in another sense, Jesus did not die for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit because that is unforgivable. He died for every single sin of anyone who trusts in him otherwise, a person could not be saved from God’s righteous judgment. In one sense, Jesus died for all sins, but in another, he did not.
